Greenfield Farm in Christmas Common received a visit this week from Rebecca Pow MP the minister in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs responsible for nature restoration. She was invited by Caroline Newton, the prospective parliamentary candidate for Henley and Thame, to see what landowners here are doing to protect and increase biodiversity. They were guests of Andrew Ingram, owner of the Tree Barn, and chairman of the Christmas Common Farm Cluster who has been farming with nature very much front-of-mind for three decades. He told Rebecca how much he welcomes the support the Government is giving farmers and landowners to continue and improve their nature-friendly farming practices.
Caroline said: "So many people tell me protecting and restoring Nature is one of your top priorities. It certainly is one of mine. That why it was such a pleasure to welcome Rebecca Pow MP, the Government Minister for Nature, to Christmas Common, Watlington recently. With serious help from Rebecca and a raft of government legislation, farmers across Henley & Thame are creating bigger, better and more joined-up nature sites."
